Between oriental shorthair and longhair
The only difference between Oriental shorthair and longhaired cats is the length of their coats. The shorthair coat is short and glossy, while the longhair coat is medium length and silky.
Here are some other differences between Oriental shorthair and longhaired cats:
- Color: Oriental longhairs come in every color except colorpoint varieties, while white Orientals can have blue, green, or odd eyes. Pointed Orientals have blue eyes.
- Tail: Oriental longhairs have a plumed tail, while both varieties have long tapering tails.
- Rarity: Oriental longhairs are considered rare.
Oriental cats are part of the Siamese breed group and are highly active and inquisitive. Both varieties have similar temperaments, with longhairs being described as lively, sweet, and affectionate.
